Visions of Atlantis

A symphonic power metal band from Austria formed in 2000. They play melodic music with both male and female lead vocals. Their songs mix nautical and fantasy themes with their most recent albums concentrating more on the topic of pirates. The band’s line-up has changed considerably over the years, the only remaining and founding member being Thomas Caser on drums. The band has recorded many albums, including three live ones in addtion to those listed below.

Pirate Queen

Catchy and melodic tunes by probably the first all-female pirate metal band band. Pirate Queen’s music is a blend of pirate- and fantasy themed symphonic power metal. Their debut single and video, “Pirates From The Sea”, was released on November 24, 2023 via Despotz Records to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

The Dread Crew of Oddwood

Formed in 2008, The Dread Crew of Oddwood hails from Southern California. Armed exclusively with acoustic instruments, these pirates infuse the raw energy of heavy metal with Celtic and European folk music to tell tales of comrades lost, bloody sieges, drunken debauchery, and all manner of villainous misadventures. Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers

Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers are a wild band of Nashville musicians who dress like pirates and play a rollicking mix of piratical sing-alongs, rousing historical rave-ups, afro-cuban tinged ballads, Cajun sea shanties, and bluesy Irish jigs, transforming big festivals, performing arts centers, and urban nightclubs into bustling seaside taverns at the turn of the seventeenth century.

Sadly Tom Mason passed away in August 2024.

Topgallant Jack

The Cornish duo Topgallant Jack are singers of shanties, sea songs and Cornish songs. Their aim is to entertain by singing and keeping alive songs from the past and by writing and performing new material too. They arrange some of the traditional tunes in a slightly different way, whilst retaining the original flavour and meaning of the song.
